What are Charcuterie Boards?

​

Charcuterie boards are used today as a fun and easy way to display meats, cheeses, breads, olives, condiments, almost anything you can think of for a dinner party or get-together.

“Charcuterie” used to be used in reference to the meats themselves; over time, it expanded to the presentation of the meat, with charcutiers trying to one-up each other with impressive arrangements. Now, charcuterie is almost exclusively associated with beautiful wooden boards, and this is more the result of our tastes than anything else.

At Macmillan Creations we can custom make a board that you are sure to love, including choice of wood and color.  Our signature handle can be added or removed mattering on your preference.  All boards can be custom made for size as well.  Have an extra large kitchen island or dining table?  We can make it to measure!

Charcuterie boards still have to be prepared properly before party time. Our solid wood serving boards are treated with food-grade finishes so that nothing gets on your food that shouldn’t be there. They make for fantastic housewarming gifts, wedding gifts or just treat yourself and use them to impress all your guests!  Wedding boards can be custom engraved to reflect the Bride and Groom's names along with their wedding date.  It is a gift they will truly love and use for many years to come!
